Welcome! Our team consists of an eye physician and two part-time optometrists that specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of eyes. We're board certified and have been in practice for more than twenty years. Our mission is to provide superior quality service to improve patients' quality of life. We implement the most state-of-art technology to improve patients' vision with small incision sutureless cataract surgery, multifocal implants, and toric implants. We can take care of secondary cataracts and glaucoma with laser surgery with selective laser trabeculectomy (SLTs) and YAG. We take care of the entire family from the young child with blurry vision, amblyopia, and cross eyes (strabismus) to the elderly with dry eyes, diabetes, and macular degeneration.

Slana Bio:

Dr. V. S. Slana completed his medical training at Loyola Medical School in 1988 and his ophthalmology residency from Loyola University Medical Center in 1992. He has active privileges at Kenosha Memorial Hospital, St. Catherine’s Hospital and Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI. He's been active in several mission trips to provide ocular medical care for patients in the Dominican Republic.  Dr. Slana also volunteers his time and talent to help improve the quality of life of the people in the Dominican Republic.


We treat all diseases of eyes. The more common ones are cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and amblyopia.


Symptoms: Blurry vision, glare, difficulty seeing road signs, difficulty reading.
Treatment: We personalize the treatment plan to patients' needs. We incorporate correct astigmatism with toric implant. We specialize in restor IQ AcrySof multifocal lens.


Symptoms: Painless loss of vision, typically seen in patients with strong family history.
Treatment: We tailor treatment plan to preserve optic nerve from further damage with eye medications, lasers and surgery. We work with patients to enhance compliance and help patients in obtaining necessary medication by working with pharmaceutical company to save patients' money. We have selective laser trabeculectomy (SLT) to open the trabecular mesh work to lower patient IOP without drops. When it is time, we can perform surgery to keep IOP low and delay further damage to optic nerve and vision.

Macular Degeneration:

Symptoms: Painless central vision loss in older patients.
Treatment: We have the technology to analyze the macular thickness and work in conjunction with retinal doctors to treat the underlying macular disease.

Diabetic Retinopathy:

Symptoms: Floaters, decrease in vision.
Treatment: We diagnose and treat diabetic retinopathy and work with primary physician to obtain best results by advising lifestyle change to prolong life and reduce comorbidity.

Amblyopia & Strabismus:

Symptoms: Blurry vision, cross eyes, wandering eyes.
Treatment: We work with your family and school to obtain straight eyes and useful vision for child.

Red eye:

Symptoms: Red eyes, light sensitivity, discharge.
Treatment: We can accommodate urgent problems with contact lens induced keratitis, foreign body, iritis and more. We work to diagnose and treat with medications, and sometimes, to change your old habits and give you tools to treat and feel more comfortable with your eyes.


Cataract surgery: We specialize in multifocal small incision surgery sutureless surgery. We utilize the Restor IQ multifocal implant and toric implants to treat presbyopia and astigmatism. We aim to reduce your dependency on glasses.

YAG Laser for cataract: We can perform an in-office laser treatment for the secondary cataract that occurs after cataract surgery.

Strabismus: We perform eye muscle surgery to correct ocular misalignment, such as esotropia and exotropia. We specialize in adjustable sutures to obtain higher levels of straight eyes to correct eye misalignment.

Glaucoma: We can help lower the patient’s intraocular pressure without eye drops by utilizing the selective laser trabeculectomy (SLT) for open angle glaucoma and also YAG laser for peripheral iridotomy for narrow angle glaucoma.
